I'm making a map that uses bar graphs to represent incoming funds to an area. The symbology on layer display tab shows an example bar along with the number 2.9. When I make a legend for the bar graph it shows the hypothetical bar with 2.9 next to it. The person I am making this map for insists on having a legend for the bar graphs, and would like them to show a value of 1. How would I go about changing the size of the bar in the legend?

Mapping Center Answer:

You will need to manipulate the legend properties manually. As a final map finishing step, you would generate the legend, convert it to graphics, ungroup all the grouped elements, and resize the bar. Another option is to use the default bar size and add your own measurement line which depicts the value (i.e. “1”) that you want to emphasize. FYI, the default value is derived from the max attribute value divided by 2.
