Calculating azimuths

I am doing a study with tidal inlets and I need to know the angle of each ebb channel in relation to the true north. The channels are digitized and I could not find a way to find out their angles. Sorry if this question has been asked before.

Mapping Center Answer:

Not knowing what format your data are in (are they lines or polygons and are there multiple line segments or only single line segments?), one solution is to convert the lines or polys to points and then use the Directional Distribution (Standard Deviational Ellipse) tool to compute the directional trend of the points that define the line or polygon.

We believe in your case that the best way to convert the features to points will be to use the Feature Vertices to Points tool, which creates a point output feature class based on the vertices of the input features. Again, not knowing the exact nature of your data limits our ability to know if we are adequately answering your question.
