How do I set the zoom ratio to show certain labels when the map is zoomed out, and other labels when the map is zoomed in? I have a different file for each EMS station in the state- if I set the properties to only show the label at a certain view ratio, will that set it for all the map files on the state map, or just the individual one? Thank you...

Mapping Center Answer:

Here’s what you do:

Create a number of label classes – you can organize these classes such that one label class (or one set of label classes if you need more than on class at each scale) shows labels for your features that require labels at each scale range you require. To do that use the Scale Range button and the SQL query button (circled on the image below).

I imagine that each time you zoom into a new scale range, the queries will change to include more features. You will need to create label classes for each layer that needs labels.
