Export ArcGlobe

Hi,

I want to create and export a globe but I have some problems working with ArcGlobe:

I have to create a grid with white lines. I generated the grid with fishnet (polygons) and defined the symbology as no fill with white lines, but ArcGlobe draws a grey border along the lines.

The line thicknes of the border and the grid varies as you can see on the screenshot as well as on the export of the globe.

Sometimes the export of the globe was not complete, especially some borderlines were missing. Unfortunately I could not reproduce this error to demonstrate the problem.

The intent of the customer is to edit the final product in a graphic program like Adobe Illustrator. Is there a possibility to export an editable vector graphics of the globe?

Thank you in advance.

Mapping Center Answer:

We don't have an option to export in vector format from Globe, so the 2D / raster version is all that is available at this time. In ArcGIS 10 we're planning to expand the maximum image export file size (this will be machine dependant, but most machines handle 10,000 x 10,000 just fine) -- this will help but it won't necessarily fix everything you are concerned about.
