One of my students wants to know if for web mapping the use of tags are more efficient than regular use of labeling (standard and maplex).
Mapping Center Answer:
I assume when you say "tags" that you mean a popup that appears when you click on a feature. If this is the case, then labels are more "efficient" because they do nto require an additional query service (this is used to supply the content for the popups when a user clicks on a map.)
