"save as" default location

Hello,
I was wondering if there is a way to set the "save as" default location folder to the folder containing the open .mxd. For example I save version of maps I work on for ongoing projects ie map_v1.mxd, map_v2.mxd, map_v3.mxd... But when I do a 'save as' it defaults to the last folder I saved a map into, not the current location of the map I am working on.
