Visualization problem in ArcScene

I have made a dem and when I open in ArcScene and drop over a line feature the feature can not be seen in some places. Why?
Mapping Center Answer:
We've found that particularly when displaying draped layers that an additional offset of something like 1 meter is needed in order to see all parts of all of the draped features. Also, 1 meter is relative to the viewing distance, if you're typically much higher up, and seeing more surface area, then a larger offset may be needed.
