Extracting polygon z values

I have a lake feature class with z values. I would like to extract the values into an attribute field for labeling. I vaguely recall there was a way in past versions of ArcGIS. But, I'll be darned if I can find it. I am still mucking about in 10......trying to find your new hiding places for things that I used to know where to look.

Mapping Center Answer:

Attributing your features with Z-values can be done using the Calculate Geometry command. To do this, simply open the attribute table for your lake features and right click on the field you want to populate with elevations. The choices for calculating Z-values include: Min Z of coordinate, Max Z of coordinate, or Z Coordinate of Centroid. Assuming your lake features are flat, any one of these will give you the same value, which you can then use to label your lakes in ArcMap.
