Transformations don't take effect until re-opening the map

When I apply my Datum transformations to the data frame. The data does not seem to properly shift until I save and re-open the map.

This sounds like a question for Esri Technical Support since there are a number of variables that could be involved. When you talk to them, you might want to be ready to answer the following questions:
- ArcGIS version
- Vector or raster or both
- Data frame's coordinate system (and layer’s)
- Any transformation or particular ones?
Also, before contacting Tech Support, you might want to either exit and restart the ArcMap session or even re-boot the computer.
