Scale Bar: Use fractions instead of decimals?

Is there a way to use fractions instead of decimals on the scale bar? Thank you!

Mapping Center Answer:

Unfortunately there is not a way to do this and maintain a dynamic scale bar (that changes when you zoom in or out on your data frame).  However, if you are making a printed map that is at a prescribed scale, you can convert the scalebar to graphics (right-click on it and choose Convert to Graphics).

Then ungroup result (twice) until you see individual boxes for text.  Then you can edit the text.  To easily get fraction characters in, I use a word processor to create the special fraction characters like ½, ¼, and ¾ then I copy and paste them into ArcMap's text properties.
