Map Data
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a GIS student at Assiniboine Community College and need a shapefile of the physiographic regions of Canada for a grade 4 GIS lesson I am preparing, where the students must identify the following features using the GIS software:
- Western Cordillera (Pacific Coast & Rocky Mountains)
- Interior Plains & St Lawrence Lowlands
- Canadian Shield & Hudson Bay Lowlands
- Arctic
- Appalachian Highlands
I noted that Natural Resources Canada has this information on their Atlas of Canada but not as a shapefile, which is what I am interest in.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can give me.
Best regards
Mapping Center Answer:
You should probably contact Natural Resources Canada directly about this -- they may be able to help you with this request. Here is their web site: http://geogratis.cgdi.gc.ca/geogratis/en/index.html.
The Esri Education portal might also be helpful: http://edcommunity.esri.com/.
Good luck!
