Joining separate lines

If you have drawn separate lines, is there a way to physically join these with the tools in Arc 10? I have drawn various lines denoting on-road cycle lanes, parallel to an existing road network. I now need to join these up to a single route via separate off-road paths.

Mapping Center Answer:

You can use Append or Merge tool to create a single route from your multiple lines. The Append tool appends multiple input datasets into an existing target dataset while the Merge tool combines multiple input datasets of the same data type into a single, new output dataset. Once you have the lines in one featrue class, you can also create a route from them using the Create Routes tool, but before you do, make sure that any lines that form a single route all have the same value in a unique identifier.
