automate model builder

Is it possible to automate model builder so that it runs over night? If so how would I go about doing that?

Mapping Center Answer:

If you are starting a model from the user interface, there is no need to do anything special, from an ArcGIS standpoint, anyway. Once you start a model in Model Builder, you can walk away and leave it to continue processing until it is done. If you do this at the end of the day and the process takes a few hours, it will continue to work overnight.

However, I think what you might want to do is start a script to run later in the evening after you are already gone. In this case, you would write a simply python script to initiate the model at the time that you specify. Here is the online help topic that relates to this issue. Scheduling a Python script to run at prescribed times

Also note that there is a Geoprocessing Center where you can find out more about Model Builder and python.
