Single part annotations to Multiple part annotation

We imported an "old" Freehand map into ArcMap (fh9 -> ai -> dwg -> shp). The problem is that the street names and multiple lines labels are separate annotations. We'd like to merge back the annotations in 2 or more part into multiple part annotations (merge "Ann" and "Street" into "Ann Street" but still separate because their placement is good).

Is it possible?

Mapping Center Answer:

It is not possible to do this in an automated way. You would have to add the text from the pieces together into a single piece of annotation and then delete the original individual pieces.  Then you would want to convert the text you "merged" to multipart annotation for greater placement control.
