Matching Legend Symbol transparency to features

I have a feature layer symbolised in a map document and a transparency set to allow other layers show through. The transparency gives the symbology colours a slightly different appearance to what they would be if there was no transparency. The symbology in the legend is shown with zero transparency and when this is shown on the map document it appears the legend is not truly representative of the map symbology. Is there a way to add the layer transparency to the legend to keep the colours consistent?

Mapping Center Answer:

The way to add layer transparency to the legend and to keep the colors in your legend the same as the colors on your map is to right click the data frame, click Properties, and on the General tab near the bottom check the option to "Simulate layer transparency in legends".
