Display Grouped Layers

How do I have a group of layers display all at once instead of one at a time? I have 3 layers that make up a shaded relief image and it renders each one individually. I would like the final hillshade to appear.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Mapping Center Answer:

One solution is to "flatten your overlaid images". We used this method on a map of Crater Lake in which the multiple rasters used in the map decreased the drawing speed.  You can read about how we did it here.

As noted in the instructions, this is a method we recommend for combining multiple raster images into one georeferenced image (e.g., TIF, JPG) to increase drawing speed.  If there are any vector layers (points, lines, text), the process of creating one image from all the displayed layers will pixelate the lines and text and their display quality will be degraded. So be sure to turn off any layers with text or linework or marker sybmols before you create the new georeferenced image.
