Data Driven Pages: why is it labeling features which lie outside the DDP clip?

You can see on the attached that points which are clearly 100% outside of the Data Driven Page Current Extent are being labeled. I will not add a field to the traffic counters to indicate proper page, as I am not the data owner (don't have write access), and do not want to disconnect this from its SDE source. The only workaround I can think of is annotation, but I'm hoping there could be a toggle I'm not aware of that would fix the automated labeling of features outside the Data Driven Pages clip. Thank you!

The issue you are having could be attributed to a number of things. For this problem, please contact Esri Technical Support as they are better suited to walk through your data with you and isolate the issue.
