Snapping Arc Version 10

I have just been upgraded from Arc V9 and V10 and have turned on the snapping tool bar in an editing session to create a new feature (polygon). But I can't see the option as to what layer I want to snap to. This appeared top left hand corner in Arc v9. I have the + sign on my cursor but it won't snap to anything. Any thoughts where I can find the layers to pick what I want to snap to? Thanks.
