100m MGRS grid and correct labels

I've been trying different methods to label a 24"x36" map with 100m grid lines and labels. I can lay down a 100m grid line system with the correct origin but the issue comes when trying to label this (with or without the grid wizard) as the label editor will not allow the correct number format.

This is the format XXyyym where XX is the 1000m grid number, and yyy is the hundred meter grid.

The only way to label a 100m map currently is to use dumb graphics (to the side of the 1000m designator) which takes forever, and god forbid you're told to update the map. I've seen some solutions but most are USGS focused and although the MRGS and USGS seem to relate well, the result is usually not what I'm looking for.

Does anyone with any experience in the Canadian Forces Geo department, or experience in general have an idea to help?

I appreciate any effort. Thank you.

Mapping Center Answer:

Make sure you are following the directions for adding an MGRS grid and not a measured grid that is not specifically MGRS. Here is a link to the online help topic for adding an MGRS grid.
