Recreational & Sports Styles

I work for a municipal government. I've been trying to map things like outdoor skating rinks, curling, soccer fields, football fields, basketball courts, etc. I've looked everywhere that I can think of on the ESRI site and found the NPS style, however it does not have all the symbols I require. I would love to see ESRI come up with something similar to the NPS style but include all outdoor and indoor activities that society uses on a daily basis. This type of symbology would be useful not only to someone in my field of work, but others as well.

Mapping Center Answer:

We are currently in the process of producing a style which will try to encompass a selection of the most common social sports. What had not been included in the wishlist of the sports previously is your request for the actual sportfield (i.e., the ice skating rink, baseball field, etc.) as part of the style, too.  You have broght up a good point with that addition.

When you say that you'd like one similar to the NPS style, we aim to include the silhouette figures, as well as the figures with boxes as backgrounds.

Is there an expected completion date for the symbols you mention ESRI is creating? I have used the NPS symbols but they don't include everything you see on the USFS and NPS maps unfortunately. I would love to have more symbols like you find of these maps. Thanks!

Without tying ourselves down to a particular date, I can tell you that we are now working on this and plan to have it to you soon! Thanks for your patience!
