Buffer

I am using the buffer tool to create a curb and gutter. After I create the buffer, I zoom in and check it, and it has gaps between my two features. My original feature is curved but the buffer is not. It also does the same thing when I use the copy parallel tool. How can I resolve this issue? Attached is an image. Thank you.

It appears that this is a bug in ArcGIS 10, SP 2, but that installing SP 3 will take care of the problem. Here is a link to the download for service pack 3.
