I am constructing an educational display map. I would like to see a listing with examples of all the label fonts that come with ArcGIS 10 so that I can make a couple of choices for what I want to use. Is there an accessible font library somewhere?
Mapping Center Answer:
That there is no font library like the one you are probably expecting. You would have to find some freeware or shareware to view samples of the fonts installed on your system.
You can also view the individual sample strings for each font when you double click on the font name in the font directory in a Windows browser. The fonts are usually stored in the C:\Windows\Fonts directory on your computer.
Note that for other Esri symbols, you can view a PDF file of graphics for the 9.3 symbols—here is a blog entry we wrote on this subject: Download a PDF of ArcGIS Version 9.3 Styles
