Data source for national unpaved roads

I am searching for an "unpaved" road layer or attribute in an existing data set. We are using USA StreetMap, but I cant seem to find it in there. Any ideas?

Mapping Center Answer:

I'm not sure such a thing exists.  I know most of the recreation atlas produces guard that information pretty jealously.  Some of the national street dataset providers have an attriute describing the pavement (paved/unpaved), but it's not always populated.  State DOTs are a good source for this information, but you'd need a state-by-state effort.
