Is there a way to show map grids in data view instead of page layout view

I have created a custom overlay grid, but it only shows in page layout view. How can I make grid borders and labels show up in data view? Thanks.

Mapping Center Answer:

There are a couple of possibilities.

First, in the layout you can convert the grid to graphics (from data frame properties grids tab).  Then you can select these graphics, and from the Edit menu choose copy or cut.  Then activate the data frame by double-clicking on it.  Choose Paste from the Edit menu, and that will paste the graphics into the data frame. (Optionally you can set up a new annotation group in the data frame to store these pasted graphics)

From there, in 9.3 you could also convert those graphics to features, that you could attribute and label.
