Scale dependent rendering
I'd like to create an MXD that, for a given feature class, has different rendering at different zoom scales. For example, as I zoom in I would like the line thickness to increase or the labeling font to change.
I am currently achieving this by adding multiple layers with different rendering and grouping them. Is there a better way to do this?
I've attached a screen shot of what I'm currently doing.

That is the current best way to do this sort of work.
