Shore Perpendicular Profiles

April 27 2009 | 0 comments

I am working with LiDAR coastline data that is in raster format on ArcInfo. The data has been divided into two 5-km sections. Each section will be used to create perpendicular profiles taken every 20 meters from given distances along the coastline. Instead of creating these 200 and some profiles by hand I was wondering if there was a way of creating a loop to carry out this function. Knowing this, I am unsure of how to format the code. If there is any way that you would be able to help me in this matter I would greatly appreciate it, for I am quite new to ArcGIS. Thank you.

Take a look at the Batch Processing documentation for Geoprocessing.  If you have further questions about this topic, you will probably find better answers on the Geoprocessing Resource Center.
