Symbology on imagery

I am looking to standardize symbology to use on imagery. Is there a style sheet or any suggestions for best practices for symbologizing features used on imagery?

Mapping Center Answer:

Actually, there is something, though I wouldn't quite call it a standard, so much as something we've designed and use ourselves.  The Map Templates Resource Center has a map template called Reference Map Template, and that has some sample data and an MXD with layers symbolized to be drawn over imagery.

Use this as is, or if your imagery is different (more saturated, less saturated, greener, more yellowed, etc.) adapt it to work for your needs.
